New Product Introduction: COIN® Model VK950

Viking is pleased to announce the new COIN® Model VK950 Specific Application Sprinkler for Combustible Interstitial Spaces (COIN). The 5.6K VK950 is designed for light hazard combustible spaces such as those between floors and for low-pitch (up to and including 2/12) attic spaces. The VK950 deflector is specially designed to deliver the broad distribution pattern required for protecting these shallow concealed areas.

The new VK950 is cULus Listed for a maximum coverage area of 16'x16' and up to 60" in depth. This coverage area is significantly larger than our existing 4.2 K-factor COIN® Model VK900 and will open up new opportunities for Viking in interstitial applications. It can be installed in both CPVC and steel wet pipe systems protecting areas constructed of wood truss, non-combustible bar joist, solid wood joists, or composite wood joists, and can be applied in dry systems when utilizing steel pipe.

The VK950 has a 93°C temperature rating, a glass bulb operating element, and features a 15 mm NPT thread size. In addition to the standard brass finish, the VK950 is also available with corrosion-resistant ENT plating.
